We have been offering DYS motors since ParkAero’s inception and have been amazed at their performance and durability. For a value brand motor they are superb.
To build on this individuality each motor is hand made and only produced to order. This often explains the delay in restocking as we are often caught out by extended production schedules. What this means to the user is they are getting a carefully manufactured motor that would normally cost at least four times the amount if it came with a Premium or European label. Obviously we are the first to admit that certain elements of the construction are produced with reduced costs in mind such as the enamelled copper stator windings forming the motor wires and couple of other minor details. On similar sized motors from some of the acknowledged big brands the windings are often terminated within the case and then extended out with silicone wires to form the motor wires. This technique is often dispensed with on the larger motors in their range to the stator wire method. This does not impede the operation of the motor in any way, but silicone wires are flexible and general lead to a long motor life as stator winding tends to be stiff and liable to breaking through fatigue. Soldered connectors may also not be so successful on enamelled wire that has been scraped to remove the enamelling. These are the main area of saving but will be forgotten the moment you take one for a spin. DYS have recently improved the flexibility of the V2 design even further. Whereas the original larger V2 motors where limited to front of bulkhead mounting the new shaft design now allows the shaft orientation to be reversed and the motor used safely in behind the bulkhead installations. This is great news as DYS motors can now be used in many of the 30 size SebArt and Extreme Flight designs. « Back |
