We keep a careful eye on the servo market for products that will compliment our EPP products and have been happy to offer the tried and tested TowerPro range since our inception. Other brands have run alongside but have come and gone. Often their performance claims have technically appeared to suit our EPP models but in practice many are just not up to the job especially in a hard flown 3D airframe. For some time we have been particularly looking for a light, strong and capable servo that can provide an alternative to the TowerPro MG16R. The MG16R is an excellent servo in its own right, but maybe a touch too heavy for many adding almost 27.6g in a four servo installation to an airframe over the desired but expensive Hitec HS-65MG or digital HS-5065MG. Price is another consideration as we always want to offer good value. The choice of good servos is endless at the premium end of the market but finding a great value offering that actually works is a lot tougher. But, our search has ended and we have finally found our ideal light weight, accurate, high torque, metal gear servo that provides a viable alternative to the MG16R. Our new servo is the ParkAero DMG65.
The ParkAero DMG65 is fractionally taller in case size to the often specified Hitec HS-5065/65MG but shares similar dimensions elsewhere.
