Design specifics
RC Factory has had a busy 2011 with a host of new models and revisions. The latest design to be revised is the ever popular Flash. Sadly the original Flash in the white scheme is no longer available. The good news is the original Flash has been replaced with a new model, the Flash D Golden Series as it’s called. The Flash D transports you to the present with a striking new trim scheme that is so different from previous schemes. Out goes the traditional safe colours and symmetrical trim lines and in comes bold design with asymmetry. Maybe not to everyone’s taste but we think it will prove popular with a lot of flyers who want something different. Not only are we met with fantastic upper surfaces but as with the most recent releases the underside has also benefitted from a subtle yet contrasting scheme. Also revised are the fuselage and canopy edges that are now rounded for a much smoother appearance.
General
For those concerned that its all show and no go we are glad to report that all the great flying characteristics that the original Flash is know for are retained. The Flash is one of the most popular introductions to EPP aerobatics and for good reason. Equipped in the spirit these models are designed the Flash will provide you a tough, superb value, great looking alternative.
The Flash is the ideal 3D and aerobatic trainer. Its super tough EPP construction ensures that you will shrug off most of the unplanned arrivals encountered when learning or pushing the boundaries of your flying. And when repairs are finally required a quick drop of cyano and kicker will get you back in the air pronto. This is the true advantage of a proper EPP model – you get endless stick time and a model that’s truly reluctant to die.
Construction
Like all the RC Factory EPP models the Flash is manufactured from genuine EPP foam and utilises carbon strip and rod for rigidity and reinforcement. The EPP flying surfaces feature a fully aerofoiled wing with integrated ailerons and rounded leading edges on the tail feathers. The Flash benefits from a F3A style carbon fibre undercarriage with a grp motor mount and control horns. The model is supplied with an extensive accessory pack including wheels and small hardware. The RC Factory Flash is available in two distinct colour schemes.
Recommended adhesives
Please note that RC Factory advises that contact adhesives such as UHU Por are not used in the construction of their models. They have found in testing that CA adhesives provide superior strength to the airframe due to CA’s ability to wick into the foam. We would therefore recommend thin or medium standard cyanocryalate (CA). Please do NOT use foam friendly/odourless as this will not adhere properly to EPP and an inadequate bond will be created.
UHU Por can be used to make subsequent repairs when required.
