I was absolutely delighted and amazed at the quality and finish of the Scale Modellbau Sukhoi 29 when the first shipment arrived a few days ago. If you are looking for the best looking and superb flying Depron foam aircraft you have found it. The model has been designed, created and manufactured in Germany. Every kit is hand made and airbrushed finished. This is the very best of the Depron world and even carries a minute authentication label with build number. Have no doubt you are buying into outstanding quality.
Video of RCM&E journalist and top UK pilot Mike Williams flying his Scale Modellbau Sukhoi 29. Thank you Mike!!!
The model is constructed from deep drawn genuine Depron foam to create a fully formed fuselage and aero foiled wing. Ailerons, tailplane, fin and rudder are sheet Depron. The kit includes a large sheet of CNC cut grp components including a large radial mount that suits our DYS A2812-14 motor perfectly. But enough of the looks, what about the flying. The Scale Modellbau Sukhoi 29 has developed a bit of a following in Germany and has been described as having the best characteristics of a much larger design wrapped into small light airframe. This is actually the design objective of this class of model. The model has not been created to replace a profile style freestyle or F3P model but to provide a lightweight freestyle model with the flying characteristics of a large outdoor machine. The Sukhoi 29 can be flown indoors or out on a calm day. I would advise you to take a look at the following thread on the German forum RC Network (Google can translate for you) http://www.rc-network.de/forum/showthread.php?t=169057.
Equipment requirements are minimal – this aircraft can be flown to maximum effect with low cost equipment. The kit as supplied requires assembly. There is not much work required but the build is different to that of a profile Depron model. I would only recommend the use of UHU Por for assembly and plenty of new scalpel blades – this is one lovely model that you would not want to ruin with blunt blade drag. The only things you are going to need is some patience to assemble the model and the talent to fly wheel pants of it.
