As any one visiting our site can probably tell we like our 3D aircraft and we love EPP. We think the two together are a perfect combination for improving your aerobatic and 3D skills – the ultimate flying tool.
As you may have gathered we also adore Telink models. Telink produces some of the best flying EPP models available - unquestionably. We would emphasis the flying aspect as the looks can often be described as functional. But really how attractive can you make a piece of foam look? Well we think Telink has got it right with this brand new model. The model has been designed by World renowned pilot Ido ‘Dodo’ Segev and manufactured in the Czech Republic from quality EPP foam. Since being informed of its development we have waited impatiently for its introduction to the market. All we can say is wow! We think the launch video of Ido Segev flying his latest design in Japan has probably opened a few eyes, dropped a few jaws and created a desire not often experienced for a foam model. This is one capable model and Ido demonstrated this clearly in the video. Luckily, we all can now experience the SU29 and find out for ourselves why Telink models are so special. We are therefore delighted to offer the new Telink SU29 1.1M.
The new SU29 1.1M follows similar construction methods to the Telink Yak. Those not familiar with the Yak will be greeted with large genuine EPP components reinforced with generous carbon rod reinforcement. These are tough airframes and handle the rigour of the hardest 3D and less than ideal conditions. As the name suggests the ‘fixed wing version’ is a one piece design and carries the lowest airframe weight of the two versions available. If space is critical, or transportation difficult the ‘removable wing’ version may be a more suitable option. Further details of the ‘removable wing’ version will be listed in the particular product details.
Motor and radio requirements:
Power requirements are low cost and readily available. Like all Telink models the SU29 has been designed to fly just like a larger built up airframe but with the added versatility of tough EPP construction to take away the pain of a misjudged manoeuvre. We would recommend that you consider our recommended power-set for the SU29 or source components similar in specification. This will provide a flying experience that is true to Ido’s expectations of the model. We are sorry that Ido’s flying skills are not presented in the kit box but his design and power set-up are a good start to achieving his level of accomplishment. For those with a lust for more power larger more powerful motors can be accommodated but probably at the expense of the fine balance between power and flight performance.
As per the Telink/GB Yak 55 we would recommend the fitment of larger micro servos such as the TowerPro MG90 or something with similar physical attributes and torque. Please do not be tempted by the micro digitals with fine brass gears. They may be great in your RC Factory aircraft but will last minutes in this airframe. Trust us on this one.
Battery choice is again another simple choice of a Li-Po in the 2100-2250mAh 3S region – probably one of the most popular pack size used in both electric aircraft and helicopters. Just make sure your pack is in good condition as this model will become a firm favourite in your fleet.
